Dr.Michael P. Hergenroether
Dr. Hergenroether has been in practice in the Santa Barbara area for over 20 years. He graduated from Palmer Chiropractic College in Davenport, Iowa in 1984, and attended the University of Wisconsin in Madison for undergraduate studies.
He is currently a member of the American Chiropractic Association and the California Chiropractic Association. He has served as treasurer, vice president, and president of the Santa Barbara district, and has also served two terms on the CCA board of directors.
Dr. Hergenroether is advanced proficiency rated in the Activator Methods Chiropractic Technique and his research contributions are published in the Activator Methods textbook. His primary approach to skeletal correction involves precision high-speed instruments to adjust the joints of the spine and extremities. These instruments accelerate faster than the muscle reflex, virtually eliminating muscular resistance. His varied patient base, from senior citizens with osteoporosis, to infants and children with delicate spines, appreciate this safe and painless technique. This method is safe for recent injuries allowing us to restore joint alignment and function immediately, allowing faster and more complete healing.
Dr. Hergenroether is very pleased to now associate with Drs. York and Cochran. Together, they utilize a holistic approach in treating their patients that may include therapeutic modalities, massage and myofascial release techniques, dietary and nutritional recommendations, personalized exercise programs, and if needed orthotics and braces.
A large percentage of Dr. Hergenroether's patients continue to utilize chiropractic services after their symptoms are stabilized. Dr. Hergenroether believes strongly that true health care is a service involved in keeping the body pain free and functioning at a high level, not in 'crisis management' care associated with symptom reduction. That is why our treatment plans are designed first for relief, then correction, and then prevention.
