Summer is here, and Chiropractic Care Can Help You Heal Your Sports Injuries

With the weather warming and summer here, many individuals will increase their activity levels by going to the gym and participating in sports.  The increase in activity can help you burn calories and lose your winter weight, but sports activities can also lead to sports injuries.  Thankfully, our chiropractor offers holistic treatment options for a variety of musculoskeletal injuries.

Sports Injuries We Treat at our Santa Barbara Chiropractor’s Office

Our Santa Barbara chiropractor’s office treats back pain, runner’s knee, tennis elbow, and tendinitis.  Back pain can occur from over using the muscles, strains and sprains and falls.

Runner’s knee is a common ailment in runners, weight lifters and bikers.  It causes pain around the kneecap that is worse when bending the knee.  Runner’s knee is usually an overuse injury, but can occur due to misalignments in the bones, foot problems, weakness in the thigh muscles and hits or blows to the knee.

Tennis elbow is a repetitive motion injury that causes inflammation in the outside tendon of the elbow.  It typically occurs in individuals that play racket sports, but can also occur in anyone that performs tasks that require a lot of lower arm twisting or fine motor skills.

Tendonitis can occur in any tendon in the body.  It is an overuse injury that causes inflammation and swelling of the tendon as well as pain and loss of range of motion.

Sports Injury Chiropractic Care

We offer chiropractic adjustments, massage therapy and laser therapy for sports injuries.  All of these treatment options are completely non-invasive, and they do not interfere with any other traditional medical treatments or medications you may be taking.

The goal of our sports injury treatment program is to reduce your pain and inflammation, heal your injury and restore your range of motion so that you can get back to playing your favorite sports and participating in your favorite exercise programs as soon as possible.
